Mind Map Maker
Think on a sheet. Double click to place an idea, drag it anywhere, drag from its edge to link it to another. Tidy fans the whole map out around the first node. Export a real SVG or a PNG. The map saves itself on this device and is never sent anywhere.
Runs entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.
How to use
- Double click anywhere on the sheet to place an idea, and type its name.
- Drag a node to move it. The links follow.
- Drag from the small square on a node onto another node to link them. Drag onto the same pair twice and nothing happens, a link is only ever made once.
- Select a node and press delete to remove it. Its links go with it.
- Press tidy to fan the whole map out around your first node. It is deterministic, so pressing it twice does not shuffle anything.
- Export an SVG for a real vector you can open in Illustrator or Figma, or a PNG at twice the screen resolution.
Examples
- Break a film down: the idea in the middle, acts around it, beats around those.
- Plan a shoot day: locations as nodes, setups linked to each one.
- Untangle a brief before you write the treatment, then export the SVG straight into the deck.
Frequently asked questions
Is my map saved?
Yes, in this browser on this device. There is no account and nothing is sent to a server. Clearing your browser data clears the map.
Can I get a vector out?
Yes. Export SVG writes a real SVG with the nodes as rectangles and the links as curves, so it opens cleanly in Illustrator, Figma or Affinity.
Why can I not link two nodes twice?
A link is a relationship, not a stroke. Drawing it again would change nothing, so the second attempt is ignored.
Does tidy move things randomly?
No. The first node stays where it is and the rest fan out in rings around it, in the order you created them. Pressing tidy twice gives exactly the same layout.
