The music came first.

Blossom is an original score by Ali Mirzaaqasi, written for the theatre production Returned Letters. The piece already existed and already had a shape, so the video follows the composition instead of asking the composition to follow a cut. I directed, shot and edited it.

WHAT YOU CANNOT SEE

Two of the scenes were never filmed.

Shot in studio at Toronto Film School: black background, a spotlight, two Aputure Fresnels. When the edit came together we were short footage and a reshoot was not on the table, so we rebuilt the performer and the outfit in 3D and placed the missing scenes back into the piece. Nobody has picked them out yet.
