Flight Time Calculator
Estimate usable drone flight time from battery, payload and conditions.
Runs entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.
How to use
- Enter the drone battery capacity and voltage.
- Set the average current draw, then add any extra payload and a safety reserve.
- Read the usable flight time after the reserve, plus the full hover time.
Examples
- A 5000mAh pack drawing 22A hovers around thirteen minutes, leaving roughly ten usable after a reserve.
- Adding a heavier camera raises the draw and cuts a couple of minutes off the usable time.
- A larger reserve is wise in wind, since gusts force the motors to work harder.
Frequently asked questions
Why a safety reserve?
You must land with charge in hand. A 25 to 30 percent reserve covers the return flight, wind and the voltage sag that makes a pack read emptier under load.
Why does payload matter?
Extra weight makes the motors draw more current to stay aloft, which drains the battery faster and shortens every flight.
How accurate is this?
It is a planning estimate from average draw. Aggressive moves, temperature and altitude all change real consumption, so treat it as a guide and watch your telemetry.
