Digital Slate Generator
Turn any phone, tablet or laptop into a fullscreen digital clapperboard: fill the production fields, go fullscreen, and tap space to clap with a flash frame, optional beep and automatic take increment. Themes, a running clock and a countdown.
Runs entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.
How to use
- Fill in the production, roll, scene and take, plus director, camera, FPS and the rest.
- Pick a theme and brightness so the board is readable on your screen and on camera.
- Press Fullscreen and hold the device up in frame at the head of the take.
- Tap the board or press space to clap. The sticks close, the frame flashes and the take counts up.
Examples
- A solo shooter can prop a phone in frame, hit fullscreen and clap by tapping the screen, no second slate needed.
- On a multicam day, set the Camera A/B/C field per device so every angle is identifiable in the edit.
- The countdown gives a clean 3, 2, 1 before action when you are rolling and slating at once.
Frequently asked questions
Why use a digital slate?
It gives editors a clear sync point and the scene, shot and take on screen, without a physical clapperboard. The flash frame and clap sound are easy to find on the timeline and waveform.
Does the clap make a sound?
Yes, an optional short beep plays on the clap so it registers on your audio for syncing. You can turn it off.
Is anything uploaded?
No. It runs entirely in your browser with no login and no tracking, and your slate is saved on this device only.
